About the Project

Nganya Series is Nairobi's boldest art and culture movement — a community built around Kenya's iconic matatu culture, celebrating the artists, designers, mechanics, and riders who turn public transport into rolling canvases of expression. The brand motto says it all: No Risk. No Story.

Digital Flow Solutions was brought in to translate this raw, high-energy identity into a digital platform that is just as loud and unapologetic as the movement itself. The brief called for a site that could hold a Gallery, Stories, Events, and a Contact section — all under a single visual language that screams Nairobi street culture without sacrificing readability or performance.

The Challenge

Culture-driven brands are notoriously difficult to design for — the visual identity must feel authentic to insiders while remaining accessible to newcomers. Nganya Series sits at the intersection of street art, automotive culture, and community storytelling, which meant the design had to carry weight: bold typography, high-contrast visuals, and motion that feels alive — not polished to the point of losing its edge.

At the same time, the platform needed practical structure: a gallery that can grow, a stories section for long-form content, and a contact flow for event bookings and collaborations — all wrapped in a responsive shell that works perfectly on the mobile phones most visitors would use.

Our Solution

We opened the site with an immersive hero — dark, cinematic, and typographically aggressive — anchored by the "THIS IS NGANYA SERIES" headline in a two-tone colour system of white, purple, and blue that mirrors the brand's identity. A utility bar above the fold — "EST 2026 · LIFESTYLE · CULTURE · AUTOMOTIVE · ART · COMMUNITY" — sets the context immediately.

Navigation is clean and direct: Home, About, Gallery, Stories, Contact. We built the Gallery with a masonry-style grid optimised for visual storytelling — artwork, vehicle wraps, and event photography sit side by side without visual hierarchy conflict. The Stories section uses a card-based layout for long-form articles, with category tagging for discoverability. Framer Motion animations give the whole experience an organic, energetic feel that matches the movement's DNA.
